## Quick start for ATAK

1. Download **Priority zip** from the landing page (or copy folder **`ATAK_PRIORITY_LOAD/`**).
2. In ATAK: **Import** → select `.kmz` or `.kml` files.
3. Load first (highest value):
   - `East_Evans_Creek_Perimeter.kmz` — fire edge
   - `Evac_Zones_ACTIVE_All_Levels.kmz` — Level 1/2/3 zones
   - `IR_Perimeter_20260712.kmz` / `IR_Intense_20260712.kmz` — aircraft IR
   - `East_Evans_Creek_Incident_Point.kmz` — origin
   - `Hotspots_ALL_AOI.kmz` — satellite heat (24h)
4. Optional heavier layers from `kml/`:
   - `JC_Roads_AOI.kmz` (~1.5 MB) — road centerlines
   - `JC_Addresses_Core_AOI.kmz` — address points near fire
   - `JC_Fire_Districts_AOI.kmz` — fire districts
5. Briefing / ops PDFs (not overlay layers — open in a PDF viewer):
   - `official_maps/TODAY_BRIEFING/00_OPS_MAP_DAY_0712.pdf` — ops map with divisions & resources
   - `official_maps/TODAY_BRIEFING/01_BRIEF_MAP_DAY_0712.pdf` — morning brief map
   - `official_maps/TODAY_BRIEFING/02_IAP_ALL_DAY_0712.pdf` — full IAP multipage

**KML color legend (evacs):**
- **Level 3 GO NOW** — red
- **Level 2 BE SET** — orange
- **Level 1 BE READY** — green
- **Perimeter** — red outline / translucent fill
- **Hotspots** — cyan points

## ATAK notes

- Prefer **KMZ** on device (smaller).
- Roads/addresses KML can be heavy; load only if needed.
- ATAK does not auto-refresh these files — re-download from links in `GIS_LIVE_LINKS.md` for updates.
- Network links: ATAK supports some KML NetworkLink patterns; you can paste REST GeoJSON via plugins or convert on a laptop and re-import.
- For offline: copy entire `East_Evans_Creek_Fire_ATAK` folder to SD card / shared drive.

## Legal / operational disclaimer

Data is aggregated from public agency feeds (NIFC WFIGS, Oregon OEM, Jackson County GIS, NASA FIRMS).
Perimeters and evacuation levels change rapidly. **Use official Genasys / Sheriff / ODF channels for life-safety decisions.** This package is a situational awareness aid for ATAK, not a substitute for official orders.
